They were Cleaning in The Park One Day

On Saturday, March 29th the Mayfair CDC were joined by their couterparts from the Major Artery Revitalization Committee (MARC) and the Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP), the St. Matthew School Football Team and Friends of Pennypack Park to do some spring cleaning around the park area adjacent to Austin Meehan Middle School and the "Sandyford Run" portion of the park leading to Roosevelt Blvd. Among the items the items that volunteers hauled away were furniture, car parts, bicycles, tires, shopping carts and many aluminum cans that were saved to recycling.

The garbage was loaded into a sanitation department truck, and all 50 or so volunteers gathered back at the John M. Perzel Community Center for a well deserved luncheon. Reese Hartey, president & chairman of the MCDC stated that "Any chance to clean up, we hop on it".
